In the end, that seemed like the best title. I intended to describe it that way in the comments here.
And, again, that IS the best way to describe the scene before us. I figure the setting here is the summer following the events of Deathly Hallows. After the wizarding world has calmed down a bit, and the last of the straggler Death Eaters were rounded up, Harry and some of his friends head down to the South of France for some much-needed R and R.
This is the type of thing I may not have done a year ago. I always said I'd never depict them doing anything too... what's a synonym for "risque"? Because that's the most suitable word, but some reason I hate using it. At any rate, I determined bathing suits, especially these fairly conservative ones, were perfectly innocent. What else would they be wearing at the beach?
With Ginny there, well, I knew I at least one of them would probably be in a backpose. And given how much I enjoy doing those, and my fondness of the spirited Ginevra, this was pretty much automatic. ^_^ Went with Harpies because she's a fan, and some of you also know her future connection with the team. And I figured she'd be the type to wear a swimsuit with a team logo like that. In fact, I did a google search of swimsuits with "muggle" team logos on them, and found those were designed in pretty much the same way. A small emblem on the front, and large, detailed logo from the back. I guess it gives the guys something to read while they're taking a prolonged peek down there.
Luna was a little difficult. Giving her that "staring into space" look was a little hard. It looks as though she's doing that, or trying for a seductive look, but only getting about 90% there. But she looks good. I got the yellow from thinking of how she dressed for the wedding in Deathly Hallows, and imagined how bright yellow would probably suit Luna pretty well. And it does, that's a pretty color on her.
Hermione was a little difficult. I was going to have conjure up a beach ball until I thought of a better use for a beach ball (see paragraph on Ron). So, I went with the margarita pitcher. I mean, conjuring booze from thin air is a good use too. Picking a swimsuit was tough for her. I pictured what a school bathing suit from Hogwarts would look like if the school issued them. I figure they'd probably unique for each house like the regular uniform and the Quidditch uniforms.
Harry was fairly easy. I was originally picturing him standing about waist-deep in the water, with a shy look on his face, as though he did want to reveal what was happening below the waist. But then when I considered that Ron would be featured as well, I decided that out of those two, RON would be most likely to land in that predicament.
Which brings us to Ron. I didn't want to put him waist-deep in water, because then he'd have to be placed pretty far into the background. So, I went with the beachball instead as a way for Ron to... conceal things. Well, I imagine he doesn't too many girls in bathing suits living in Wizarding Britain. Indeed, this may be the first time he's ever seen women in such a state. So, his reaction is an appropriate one, although Harry is clearly taking it in better stride. ^_^
