Sleighbells

Well, it's the day before Thanksgiving, and I'm starting with the Christmas stuff. Hey, I've TRIED to do stuff with a Thanksgiving theme, but there is just NO WAY to make that cute or have sex appeal. I've learned that after several failed attempts and made my peace with it! It's just not a holiday that lends itself to pinup art.

So, Christmas! I'd like to a FEW Christmasy things throughout December, but I've been at this long enough to know how I get around Christmas. There's a good chance that a couple weeks from now I'll be so depressed that I barely wanna get out of bed and take a shower, much less draw anything. I can't say what it is that makes me get so depressed at Christmas. It's not loneliness, I LIKE living by myself, but also I spend time with my family. Maybe it's because it's been commercialized and politicized. NO IDEA! Point is, I wanted to get at least ONE up while I still felt pretty good.

I was looking through some other pinup images for pose ideas, and it occurred to me that I've never done a pose like this, at least not from the back. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe because it seemed like it would just be like I'm saying "Well, here's her cute little ass. . . enjoy." But it's not really that overtly sexual, it still stays in the cute-with-sex-appeal realm I try to stick to. So, with that in mind: here's her cute little ass. Enjoy.

The title obviously comes from what she's wearing. I was looking through different types of Christmas lingerie, and I found several of these ruffled panties with little sleighbells on them. And I just instantly fell in love with the idea. . . just thinking of all the different ways those little bells would jingle ^_^. I didn't really see any matching tops, and I thought about just not giving her one at all, but it seemed a little incomplete without it. So I just went with a sheer, matching camisole. Nothing too fancy.

The Christmas tree provided some challenges. I looked up a few tutorials about how to make nice-looking baubles for the tree, and even after I made them, I had to find some ways to give them depth, like they were actually hanging from the tree, and some them sort of IN the branches, because at first it just sort of looked like they were all hovering a few inches off the tree. In fact, that was a problem I had with ALL the decorations, but it was hardest to solve with the baubles.

Finally, there was the rest of the setting. I went with something a little more modest there with just a plain wall and a peek at the snow falling out the window. But I did add a few details, like the garland, and strings of lights, and the stockings that, if you look closely, you'll see that she hung them by the furnace grate with care, totally intentional there.

All and all, I hope my mood stays up throughout the holidays this year, or long enough to get more Christmas stuff up, but if this winds up being the only one that gets made this year, well, that's still one more than some years, but I'll also be quite satisfied because for the first time in quite a few years, I have a Christmas piece I actually that I'm happy with.
