Kunoichi Blossoms

So, like Damn Zombies, Stop Eating My Neighbors, this is an idea I had for last Halloween that just didn't come to fruition. More specifically, my Halloween 2015 drawing was gonna feature a girl in a ninja costume. But, that's alright, because this way I was able to use that for something a lot better. 

I only ever did one other ninja girl way back in 2003, when I did one called Warrior. Suffice it to say, I've gotten a lot better since then. 

I just didn't want to do another one until I was sure I could do it right, and I think I'm at a point where I knew it would work out. I tried out a few new tricks here to get the silk texture right, especially for her cowl. And the idea of having that bluish ghost image behind her was my idea for getting a sense of speed, it came to me from playing Super Metroid, where when Samus dashes you see all those bluish images behind her. I also thought it would a little bit of mystical element. I had a third, more blurred, paler image of her as well, but that just didn't work as well and made things too messy. Besides, I got the idea across with the just the one.
