Interior Decorating

So, let me explain. I mean, it's pretty obvious WHAT is going on here, but let me explain WHY I decided to draw this.

It's a journey that takes all the way back to the early 1990s. I remember being a kid, maybe around ten, and a few times I saw on TV these commercials for women's underwear that showed exactly this kind of thing: a few friends painting a livingroom or something together, having first stripped down to their underwear, as you do. 

Yeah, it always seemed weird to ME, too. But hey, what the hell, it works for a fun pinup. And there's a SORT of logic to it-- wouldn't want your nice clothes to get all covered in paint. Most people have old, ratty clothes they don't care about messing up for this kind of thing, which is how you'd do it in REAL LIFE. But hell, they weren't trying to advertise old clothes you were okay with messing up!

I was gonna do this a little over a year ago, and I got as far as pencil sketches, but I just wasn't so happy with how they looked and I couldn't adjust them to how I wanted before I started inking, so the project was scrapped. I also did this same idea quite a few years ago, way back in 2003. It was actually the first drawing I ever inked in Photoshop. You can see that one here:



She's the third from the left, or, more obviously, the one holding a paintbrush and paint can. 

But I wound up having a lot of fun remaking this, especially after the week-long nightmare of my damn hard drive going to hell. I didn't lose any files, luckily. But, it was a weak of a bad computer, and several days of getting everything back how I liked it after getting a new hard drive, transferring my stuff over, reinstalling EVERYTHING >_< But, I'm back in business.
